Springtime has arrived. The hunt for desert wildflowers begins

Around Town  February

Perfect weather for the sky village swap meet in Yucca Valley. This is the place for great deals, checking out all the weird junk for sale, and spying the locals. A must see is Bob's Crystal Cave.

Around Town January 28. Volunteer day with the Mojave Desert Land Trust. A group of staff and volunteers begun the restoration of a newly acquired parcel of land called Long Canyon Peak, adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park. We started by cleaning up dumping sites and restoring damage from irresponsible off-road vehicle use. This 640-acre plot in the foothills north the of the Park is an important wildlife corridor to the higher elevations toward Big Bear and San Bernardino National Forest.

November 18: First trip through the Integratron

The Integratron is a structure designed George Van Tassel. Tassel claimed the Integratron was capable of rejuvenation, anti-gravity and time travel. He built the structure in Landers, California following instructions provided by visitors from Venus. The structure was erected in 1959, financed predominantly by donations, including funds from Howard Hughes. After Van Tassel's death in 1978, the building had a series of owners and was left in various states of disrepair before Joanne, Nancy, and Patty Karl bought it in the early 2000s. The sisters promote the Integratron as an acoustically perfect structure, give tours and offer sound baths where groups of people are exposed to harmonic sound frequencies produced by resonant quartz bowls.

May 12-15 & October 6-9 2016

The Joshua Tree Music Festivals are produced by a family of friends and funsters convinced that music is the soul of life, and that art enriches and saves lives.
That experience is enhanced when embraced in the great outdoors amongst fellow music lovers. Better still in an intimate setting, where the distinction between artist and audience is blurred, and a passionate performance can be truly relished in close proximity to the stage. Add FREE water to patrons, no service charges on reasonably priced tickets, and well ... let the games begin.

December 2015

This is beginning of our home renovations to Linda Lee. Removing old carpet, linoleum tile, and a new paint job will be needed to get rid of that old cigarette smell that pervades everything. Not a bad place to start, the structure of the house is in great shape.
